If you hire a canoe you can paddle towards beautiful small coves in the nearby reachable only by sea.

You can have many chances to practice activities such as swimming, snorkeling, rock fishing, underwater fishing, canoe paddling, kayaking, windsurf, trekking, and mountain bike.

 

3.5 km from Nisportino is Santa Caterina Hermitage Sanctuary, whose medieval original layout is most likely Romanesque. Since 1990 the “Orto dei Semplici”, Tuscan Archipelago’s wild and cultivated herb garden, has been adjoined to it.

Nisportino is annexed to the municipality of Rio Nell’Elba, which is situated within driving distance (5 km).

Rio Nell’Elba is one of the most ancient island’s towns. Its origin traces back to the Bronze Age. It is a typical little town where you can either stroll along the narrow streets or visit S.S. Giacomo and Quirico Parish Church, which was built in the XIth Century.

Sightseeing the ancient washhouse with its 1500s brass taps, or the Archeological Museum in Rio Nell’Elba is also to recommend.

The town Rio Nell’Elba is conveniently situated for essential services and shops such as pharmacy, post office, bank, bakery, bars and restaurants.

Sitting in the central square you can also access the web by a free wi-fi connection, you just need to register and log in!

 

1.5 km far from Rio Nell’Elba, along the way to Rio Marina you can find a big “Coop” supermarket.

There in Rio Marina, 8 km away from Nisportino, you find your nearest embarkation port.

Rio Marina offers many shopping facilities, restaurants, bank, pharmacy, post office, “Conad” Supermarket, scooter rental, dinghies rental, diving facilities, and local market (on Mondays).

 

13 km distant is Porto Azzurro, near Capoliveri, is a characteristic small town equipped with all shopping and leisure facilities.

14 km off Cavois annexed to Rio Nell’Elba’s municipality and it is a quaint coast town (there are here less amenities than in Porto Azzurro).
